Sadaqa al-Fitr is obligatory after the sighting of the Eid
moon and lasts until the Eid prayers. However, the best time for Sadaqa al-Fitr
is before going to the Eid prayers on the morning of Eid, because the Prophet
(peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: This is the time set. At the end of
Ramadan, God Almighty has made it obligatory to give sadaqa al-fitr so that the
interruptions in fasting due to shortcomings and sins will go away.
In the
state of fasting, the nonsense or nonsense that comes out of the tongue or the
eyes go astray, the fast is cleansed from these things by paying zakaat
al-fitr, and it becomes so popular in the sight of Allaah that there is no
obstacle in its acceptance. One of the wisdoms of Sadaqah-e-Fitr is that it is
thanks to the great blessing of Allah Almighty that He has given us the blessed
month of Ramadan, and enabled us to fast, stay up and perform other acts of
worship, because all this is without success. It was not possible for God. It is narrated on the
authority of Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the ruler of the
worlds (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) made Zakat-ul-Fitr
(Sadaqah-ul-Fitr) obligatory on every slave, free man, woman and young and old.
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be
upon him) described Sadaqa al-Fitr as food for the poor and said, “Make them
free from asking questions on the day of Eid. Eid is a day of happiness for all
Muslims, but some people participate in this common festival due to their
financial constraints. Therefore, Sadaqah-e-Fitr has been made obligatory on
those who can afford it, so that through this charity they can help the needy
people and enable them to share the joy of Eid with all Muslims. Hazrat Abu Saeed Al-Khudri (may Allah be
pleased with him) says that we used to take out one saa 'of food or one saa' of
root or one saa 'of dates or one saa' of dried grapes (Bukhari and Muslim).
It should be noted here that saa 'is not a
measure of weight but a measure of measurement. It is said that the weight of
Saa 'should be two and a half kilos while giving Sadaqah Fitr.
It is generally believed that sadaqa al-fitr is
exclusive to wheat, while the hadiths mention paying sadaqa al-fitr in four
ways. One raisin, another dried date, a third
barley, and a fourth wheat. Whereas every Muslim who owns one of the five
things (gold, silver, cash, merchandise and surplus goods) or a combination of
these five is worth fifty-two and a half tons of silver, regardless of the syllabus.
Whether the whole year has passed or not, it is obligatory on him to pay
Sadaqah-e-Fitr on his own behalf and on behalf of the minor children under his
care. And it is not permissible for a person who
possesses the above-mentioned syllabus to take Zakat, Sadaqah-e-Fitr and
Sadaqat-e-Wajib. It
is not obligatory for a man to pay sadaqa al-fitr on behalf of any other
relative other than the minor children, such as wife, adult children, sister,
brother, even if they are under his care, but the adult children and wife If
zakat al-fitr is paid without their permission, it will be paid on condition
that the adult child is in his family.
Similarly, it is not obligatory for the mother
to give charity to her children, even if they are rich. If the woman herself is
the owner of the syllabus, then she is responsible for paying the sadaqa
al-fitr. The husband is not responsible for it. However, if the husband pays it
on behalf of the wife, then the sadaqa al-fitr will be paid. Not obligatory. Those
who do not fast due to travel or illness or due to negligence, Sadaqa al-Fitr
is also obligatory on them if they have a syllabus.
Sadaqa al-Fitr is obligatory after the sighting
of the Eid moon and lasts until the Eid prayers. However, the best time for
Sadaqa al-Fitr is before going to the Eid prayers on the morning of Eid,
because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: This is
the time set. Therefore, Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with
him) said that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) commanded
us to pay zakaat al-fitr before the people go to the Eid prayer, and whoever
prays after the prayer It will be counted in ordinary alms, yes, if there is
any interest in view, it can be paid a day or two in advance. According to
Mutta Ibn Malik, Ibn Umar used to give his and his family's zakat al-fitr to
those who received zakat al-fitr two days before Eid. If a person pays neither
in Ramadan nor on the day of Eid, then he will be obliged to pay later and will
not be forgiven. It is the shar'i responsibility of the one who pays the sadaqa
al-fitr to use it properly. Sadaqa al-Fitr can be given only to the poor who
are entitled to Zakat, that is, if they do not have two and a half tons of
silver or its equivalent in gold, silver, cash, merchandise, and excess goods,
then it is Sadaqa al-Fitr. Can be given. However, it is not permissible to give
Sadaqah al-Fitr to those from whom it was born, such as mothers, fathers,
grandfathers, grandmothers, and those who are its offspring, such as sons,
daughters, grandsons, granddaughters, great-grandchildren, etc. Husbands cannot
give charity to their wives. In addition, all other relatives can be given
while they are deserving, but giving to a deserving relative is a double
reward, one is a merciful reward and the other is the payment of obligations.
Those who have been blessed by Allah Almighty should pay Sadaqah-e-Fitr
according to their status instead of relying on wheat. So that the needs of the
poor can be met as much as possible and they can share the joys and joys of Eid
with other Muslims.
